Abstract: | In recent decades, rapid industrialization and urbanization deplete several natural resources to a large extent. The green cover of earth is erased faster due to the pollution caused by human beings. The primary source of air pollution is the power generation sector due to the combustion of fossil-based fuels. On account for these factors, the global research community focuses on the alternate source of energy that gives rise to the renewable energy sector. Renewable energy refers to the source of energy is obtained from natural supplies like plants, water, wind, solar radiation, waves, geothermal, etc. Rigorous researches have been conducted on every individual renewable energy source to explore the possibility of utilizing it. The electric power generation sector is predominately operated by fossil-based fuel which if made renewable would save billions of tones of fossil fuel reserves and preserves the environment. In this view, wind energy shows dominant attributes to be substituted in the power generation sector. In past decades, wind energy harvesting was not efficient due to technological setbacks, whereas the present decade witnesses the efficient utilization of wind power in several parts of the world. Even though wind energy is one of the cleanest energy sources, some of the common problems observed in wind energy systems are high maintenance cost, location-specific working and high cost to power ratio. newlineThis work predominately focuses on reducing the cost to power ratio of the wind turbine by increasing the power production by modifying the blade profile. newline |
