Abstract: The work carried out in my research tenure has been compiled in the form of a thesis entitled Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Azepinone-based Heterocyclic Compounds as Potential Anticancer Agents and Development of a Novel Methodology for the Synthesis of N-Heterocycles . This work focuses on the design and synthesis of the azepinoindolone-based molecular hybrids of indoles, oxindoles and 4-thiazolidinones. Additionally, the work also includes the development of a new and efficient synthetic methodology for the construction of 3-aminobenzazoles (benzoxazoles, benzimidazoles and benzothiazoles) via cyclodesulfurization strategy. The thesis has been divided into five chapters. newline
