dc.description.abstract | The usage of licensed spectrum band with abundant traffic over the unlicensed spectrum band becomes the drive for an alternate spectrum allocation policy. The adoption of licensed spectrum by unlicensed users creates a curiosity in Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) with purpose of improving spectrum utilization through opportunistic spectrum access. Spectrum band allocated to the licensed (primary) user is not utilized to its maximum and stays underutilized. By taking advantage of this opportunity the unlicensed (secondary) user will utilize the spectrum hole to transmit its multimedia data as packets with minimum overhead. Poor utilization of TV UHF band which is only of 20% in India forms the motivation of research. With the aim of increasing spectrum utilization for high QoS demanding multimedia data generated by various social network sources proposes, different allocation scheme that satisfies different requirement. Existing traditional DSA techniques mainly focuses on Secondary users QoS requirement, increase the throughput of the channel, by exploiting various parameters of both Primary user and Secondary user. Whereas novel proposed method mainly focuses on Dynamic spectrum Access for secondary users through algorithmic approach concentrates on throughput, channel utilization, packet delivery ratio, delay, and overhead by introducing spectrum pool or repository. This research proposes methodologies for different scenarios. The first method is simple PPP method with spectrum pool implemented through queue data structure that shows increase in throughput in the simulated environment. The second methodology is to have dynamic spectrum allocation for non-cooperative user environment using Non-cooperative game theory model along with channel prizing scheme. newline | |
