Abstract: | The excellent stability of silica nanoparticles found its way in clinical treatment like prognosis, diagnosis and drug delivery system due to its alchemic characteristics. The initial polymer-based Drug Delivery System experienced problems like low clearance, poor solubility along the bloodstream and low transmission across the cell regions. The other basic disadvantages are degradation of products due to toxicity of the materials and the need of surgical intervention for removal, patients discomfort with Drug Delivery System device usage and high cost of final product. newlineWhen the silica nanoparticles are incorporated into the Drug Delivery System, these small molecules, get disseminated into the body directly and reach the target cells. After injecting the particles, they can be monitored by using simple hardware systems such as cameras. But, in general, the outputs of camera are in the image form which are affected severely by noise and also suffers from poor contrast posing the challenge of the need to go through post image processing treatments. By devising suitable algorithms, the Computer Aided Diagnosis is made possible which leads to the identification of diseased tissues and also assesses the severity of the affected anatomical area. newline |
