An attempt was made to identify the marker-trait associations for taxonomic, newlineagronomic, productivity, resistance to foliar diseases and nutritional traits in groundnut newlineusing AhTE marker data and two season (kharif-2014 and 2015) phenotypic data newlinegenerated at IABT garden at UAS Dharwad using 432 RILs derived from a biparental newlinecross (TMV 2 × TMV 2-NLM) and 98 independent mutants. newlineThough the RAD-Sequencing data showed very high genome similarity between newlineTMV 2 and TMV 2-NLM in terms of SNPs and CNVs, they differed significantly for newlinetaxonomic, agronomic, and productivity traits. A genetic linkage map of 1,205.66 cM newlinewas constructed from the RILs using 91 markers. Single marker analysis detected major newlinemarkers for 18 traits across the years. AhTE0357, AhTE0391 and AhTE0523 were newlineassociated with days to 50 per cent flowering, oleic acid, and eicosenoic acid, newlinerespectively. QTL analysis detected seven major QTL regions for 22 traits across the newlineyears. The QTL AhTE0357-AhTE0050 governed days to 50 per cent flowering (R2 22.0 newline%) while AhTE0391-AhTE0572 governed oleic acid (R2 15.1 %). Two genic markers newline(AhTE0357 and AhTE0391) with AhMITE1 activity in the genes Araip.TG1BL (B02 newlinechromosome) and Aradu.7N61X (A09 chromosome) respectively showed strong linkage newlinewith taxonomic, agronomic and nutritional traits. newlineUsing the mutant population, 132 highly significant marker-trait associations newline(MTAs) represented by 58 AhTE markers were identified for 39 traits. Nutritional traits newlinerecorded the highest number of MTAs (38), followed by agronomic (35), productivity newline(31), foliar disease resistance (23) and taxonomic traits (5). AhTE0050 showed strong newlineassociation with the number of primary branches in both the RIL and mutant newlinepopulation, indicating the scope of its application in selections. The AhTE markers newlinelinked/associated with the important traits could help in gene discovery and functional newlineanalysis. Thirty one superior RILs (15) and mutants (16) identified in this study could newlinebe developed into new commercial varieties.
