Abstract: There are quite a lot of research activities undertaken towards the newlineuse/development of light weight engineering materials having good specific newlineproperties. These properties may not be possible with monolithic materials, newlinewhere having combination of properties may be difficult. Hence there is newlinenecessity of materials like composites, where strength of individual materials newlinecan be combined to get better bulk/surface properties. Fiber reinforced newlinecomposites constitute one such class of material. When a polymer is newlinereinforced with a singular reinforcement ie., only glass fibre, its modulus newlinecould be improved, while the stiffness may remain relatively less. Likewise, newlinewhen the polymer matrix is reinforced with carbon fibre alone its stiffness newlinecould be very high, whereas the modulus and laminar shear strength may newlineremain relatively less. Hence combination of Glass and Epoxy, could help in newlinegetting better properties. newline newline newline
