Abstract: Recently, D2D communication in LTE-A networks is drawing the attention of engineers and scientists in the field of wireless mobile networks. Device-to-device (D2D) newlinecommunication is a technique in which users can communicate directly without the use of newlinebase stations. With the D2D features, devices of physical proximity could be able to share newlineinformation between them using LTE-A technology. The main objective of proposed newlineresearch work is power control, enhancement of energy efficiency and throughput, newlineinterference mitigation and mobility management for efficient D2D communication in newlineLTE-A systems. Different scheduling strategies like mode selection, resource allocation and power control mechanisms are utilized to show the overall improvement in the LTE A network. Finally using LabVIEW simulation platform the performances are evaluated and compared with the traditional mechanisms.Power control in LTE-A networks is a very important factor to handle both voice and data services efficiently. Power control based on distance between the devices for efficient D2D communication in LTE-A networks is a challenging issue. D2D and cellular signals under the same network result in In-band Emission Interference (IEI) and this degrades the discovery range which result in loss of energy efficiency, throughput and hence increases the power requirement in both uplink and downlink transmissions. The power newlinecontrol algorithm introduced in the research work greatly helps in saving power in LTE Advanced networks for D2D communication. newlineEnergy efficiency enhancement approach is introduced for D2D communication in LTE newlineAdvanced networks considering the devices circuit power consumption and the quality of-service (QoS) requirements for both types of users. This work presents a flexible mode newlineselection scheme using Branch and Bound algorithm. The developed framework is used newlineto analyze and understand how the underlying D2D communication affects the cellular newlinenetwork performance.
