ASIC based verification methods for digital image steganography

Abstract

Image steganography or more precisely Digital Image Steganography is one of the many specialized areas of cyber security. The extent of exploita tion of the electromagnetic spectrum for connecting people has reached a new climax with the name internet that has correspondingly expanded the range of need for privacy. In this connection, steganography plays a principal role in covert communication to embed not just data, but also the information itself. The primary aim of steganography is to improve newlinethe communication privacy by infixing the confidential information into the cover media namely gray and color pictures. The current research work presents the ASIC/FPGA-based verification techniques for digital image steganography. The process of hiding the hidden message in the digital image has been carried out in the spatial and transformed domains with relevant mathematical models. The spatial domain techniques aim in realizing typical histogram- based steganography scheme, LSB method, newlineand EMD schemes. Transformed domain methods proposed in the cur rent research work include discrete cosine transform and wavelet-based image steganography. newline
