Abstract: Clonidine prolongs the time and increases the quality of newlineanaesthesia, other than being sympatholytic and hemodynamic newlinestabilizing activity. According to Sanchez Munoz et al., (2017) 9 newlinea newlinemeta-analysis of 57 trials confirmed that clonidine improves pain newlinecontrol, reduces postoperative nausea and vomiting, improves newlinehemodynamic and sympathetic stability, with absent adverse newlineconsequences on renal function or awakening time. Also, they newlineshowed that clonidine did not influence cardiac outcome in the newlinegeneral population, after non-cardiac surgery. However, there was newlineconsiderable heterogeneity in the included studies, therefore newlinelimiting the evidence newlineDexmedetomidine is a highly selective and#945;-2 adrenergic newlinereceptor agonist than clonidine. It is considered as a versatile drug newlinein anesthesiology. It has ana esthetic sparing effect, sympatholytic newlineproperty, useful in other procedural sedation and also has newlinecardiovascular stabilizing property. It reduces delirium and newlinepreserves respiratory function which adds benefits to its uses newlineHowever, there is a lacuna in the literature in comparing two newlineand#945;-2 receptor agonists. The current study addresses this problem and newlinecompares the hemodynamic stability effect of two and#945;-2 adrenergic newlinereceptor agonists - Clonidine and dexmedetomidine newline
