Abstract: The present research examines the factors causing stress outcomes of stress and coping strategies adopted by the Government Government Aided and Self Financing Arts and Science College Teachers of Chennai to overcome the stress Based on the three hundred and sixty samples collected from three hundred and seventy seven respondents within Chennai corporation limit the researcher tries to enhance the knowledge of stress experience and its impact on the Arts and Science College teachers In order to trace the truth and bring out the hidden facts on stress in higher education profession and its impact on Arts and science college teachers the survey was conducted among different levels of college teachers belonging to different socio economical background by way of distributing structured questionnaire in person directly The questionnaire was segmented into five parts dealing with Socio economic factors factors causing stress outcomes of stress stress coping strategies and the impact of stress coping strategies to evaluate the reasons and its impact and combating methods of stress by college teachers Hypothesis were also framed and tested to prove and justify the facts through systematic analysis discussions are done in analysis part of the research in Chapter IV which includes frequency distribution analysis factor analysis cluster analysis checking the association between the different clusters of teachers and different socio economic organizational variables ie age sex number of dependents monthly income nature of college and faculty designation influence of socio economic organizational factors on factors causing stress outcomes of stress and stress coping strategies using ANOVA analysis influence of individual factors on impact of stress coping strategies by using multiple regression analysis and normalized T test to find the impact of coping strategies by different teaching faculties The inferences and interpretations are given to enable the readers to understand the real concept of the study and to bring out the
