Abstract: Combination of Receptive Fields (CORF) model is a type of 2 dimensional Gabor function model which uses the response of model Lateral Geniculate Nucleus cells with center surround receptive fields as its input value. A conventional Gabor filter cannot reproduce a number of properties that is produced by the real simple cells. A receptive field map is generated using this filter model with the help of reverse correlation. The basic advantage of CORF filter over the Gabor filter is that it is more effective in analyzing the contour. The work done basically involves analyzing CORF filter with respect to the Gabor filter. The most common method of comparing is by analyzing the response of both the filters by the implementation of its preferred orientation and preferred frequency. Here we compare the outputs of the CORF filter to a shifting grating function and obtained a result similar to a simple RF cell. newline
