Abstract: From time immemorial plants find use as medicine. Commercially, to manufacture new drugs for medicinal purposes from plants, both qualitative and quantitative phytochemical screening of the plant is very essential. One of the Ayurvedic plants of immense medicinal potential is Jasminum flexile Vahl. Jasminum flexile Vahl finds use in various Ayurvedic formulations and is not hitherto investigated widely and hence was taken up in the present study. The main objectives of the research study are phytochemical investigation of chosen Ayurvedic medicinal plants, isolation and characterization of chemical constituents from the leaves of Jasminum flexile biological validation studies, computational validation studies and preparation of a ready reckoner documentation sheet. newlineIn phase I, shade dried leaves of Jasminum flexile Vahl were extracted successively by a reflux method with hexane and hydroethanol solvents. Physicochemical characteristics, spectral and chromatographic finger printing, quantification and elemental analysis of the extracts were evaluated and the results were documented. In phase II, the chemical investigation of the leaves of Jasminum flexile was undertaken. The hexane extract of leaves of Jasminum flexile was subjected to cyclograph-aided radial separation. The hydroethanolic extract of leaves of Jasminum flexile was analysed by column chromatography for separation of constituents. Cyclograph-Aided radial separation of hexane extract concentrate of leaves of Jasminum flexile led to the isolation of one compound JCF C1. Column chromatographic analysis of hydroethanolic extract concentrate of leaves of Jasminum flexile led to the isolation of five compounds namely JFL C1, JFL C2, JFL C3, JFL C4 and JFL C5. newlinePhase III was done to investigate the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory potential of the hexane and hydroethanol extract of leaves of Jasminum flexile, its cyclograph fractions, column fractions and constituent compounds. The results indicate that the leaves of Jasminum flexile possess bioactives
