Abstract: Laboratory and field experiments were conducted at Department of Plant newlinePathology, College of Agriculture, Dharwad, Main Agricultural Research Station, newlineDharwad and Agricultural Research Station, Mudhol, UAS, Dharwad, respectively to newlinestudy the variability in Pyricularia grisea (cooke) sacc. and integrated management of newlinefoliar diseases of pearl millet newlineRoving survey conducted in Bagalkot, Koppal, Bellary and Vijayapura district newlineindicated higher severity of blast in Koppal district (18.75 %) and least in Vijayapura newlinedistrict (9.3%). newlineAssessment of loss due to blast by doing artificial inoculation in 15 pearl millet newlinegenotypes revealed highest per cent loss in grain yield of 44.03 % and fodder yield of newline49.63 % in ICTP 8203 and it was least in Kaveri boss 65 which has recorded 15.30 % newlinegrain yield loss and fodder yield loss of 14.49 %. newlineTwenty one isolates of P. grisea showed variability with respect to newlinemorphological and cultural characters and pathogenic ability. On the basis of newlinepathogenicity, 21 isolates were grouped into 5 different pathotypes. YadPg5, LudPg20 newlineand AntPg17 pathotypes were found most virulent. newlineUnder in vitro studies, mancozeb at 0.1% (100%), carbendazim 12 % + newlinemancozeb 63 % at 0.05 % (100%), agroneem at 0. 25 % (74.1%), consortium of two newlinebioagents T. harzianum + B. subtilis recorded maximum inhibition of mycelial growth newlineand panchagavya at 5% inhibited 75.0 % spore germination. In Integrated disease newlinemanagement, two sprays of carbendazim 12 % + mancozeb 63 % at 0.1 % effectively newlinereduced the severity of blast (PDI 18.83) and increased grain yield (30.75 q ha-1) with newlinehighest C: B (1:3.9). newline241 pearl millet mini core from ICRISAT, Hyderabad and 426 inbreed lines of newlineRARS, Vijayapura were screened under polyhouse against blast. None of the genotypes newlineshowed immune or resistant reaction to blast. However, 79 genotypes of mini core and newline16 inbreed lines depicted moderately susceptible reaction and remaining were found newlinesusceptible to highly susceptible. newline
