dc.description.abstractIn conclusion socialization is a relatively new concept and not well understood by newlinestudents, parents and the university community of its contribution towards academic newlinesuccess and competency than the mere observation of its social enjoyments. In the case of newlinediverse societies like India, the concern of dealing with university diversity is not a simple newlinetask for higher learning institutions. The present study is aim at investigating the newlineinterrelationship of socialization, academic motivation, achievement goal and substance newlineuse among university students . This research will follow pragmatism perspective with newlinemixed research approach and characteristically focus on comparative descriptive survey newlineand correlational study designs. Both probability and non-probability sampling techniques newlinewill be used. Hence, quantitative survey data will collect from a sample of 384 participant newlineregular students registered in Andhra University through Krejcie and Morgan, 1970 newlinesampling formula at 95 % confidence interval and will be subjected to descriptive and newlineinferential statistical analyses. Besides, the qualitative data will be taken from 24 key newlineinformants and analyzed thematically. newline
