Abstract: The nature of employment and its relationship to life outside of work have both been newlineand continue to be shaped by changes in the social, political, and economic spheres of newlinesocieties. Due to better educational and employment opportunities, women today hold half newlineof all management, professional, and related positions in our country. Women newlineacademician s professional and family responsibilities greatly interfere with their work and newlinefamily life, resulting in stress that directly affects their professional performances and their newlinelife and job satisfaction. The academicians adopt number of strategies, in balancing these newlinedimensions and achieving work-life balance. Combining these parameters, this study aims newlineto analyse relationship of work-life balance with job stress, job satisfaction and job newlineperformance of women academicians in Higher Educational Institutions. newlineThe methodology and research design of the thesis are framed with the support of newlinetheoretical and literature survey. The research study is both explorative and descriptive in nature. Field survey was conducted with the support of well framed questionnaire in conducting quantitative analysis and to draw qualitative inferences. 458 samples were used for this survey. It consisted of 89 women academicians from Government Colleges, 122 from Aided Colleges and 247 from Self- financing Arts and Science Colleges in Palakkad District. newlineThe empirical study result confirms that women teachers are able to manage their newlineprofessional duties and family responsibilities, their roles do not interrupt each other, and they get work place support from colleagues and also from family members. At the same time they feel that their profession does not ensure flexibility of time. Majority of the respondents from Self-financing Colleges receive minimum salary packages and promotions are rarely offered to them.
