Abstract: Abstract: Aphanamixis polystachya (Wall) Parker (A. polystachya) is the large handsome evergreen tree, with a dense spreading crown and a straight cylindrical bole up to 15m in height and 1.5-1.8m in width. The plant of A. polystachya is used traditionally in treatment of tumours, cancer, spleen diseases, rheumatism at Bengal, southeast and north region. Its have hepatoprotective activity, antimicrobial, antiviral and antibacterial activity. The aim of the present study is to examine leaves, stems and root bark of A. polystachya for phytochemical profile. The dried leaves, stems and root bark of A. polystachya was successive extracted with chloroform, ethyl acetate, methanol and water solvents by maceration method and solvents from extracts was evaporated under vacuum. Qualitative analysis of various phytochemical constituents and quantitative analysis of total flavonoids and alkaloid content were determined by the well-known test protocol available in the literature. The Preliminary phytochemical investigation revealed the presence of various phytoconstituents in each extracts. The present study concluded that the crude extract of A. polystachya is a rich source of secondary phytoconstituents which impart significant antioxidant potential. The findings of the present study will be helpful to phytochemists, pharmacologists and pharmaceutical industries. Keywords: Aphanamixis polystachya, Leaves, Stems, Root bark, Phytochemical analysis
