Abstract: | Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global threat to health in general and for developing countries in particular, because therapy is expensive and lifelong. The increasing prevalence of CKD has now been recognized as a major public health problem globally. Once kidney impairment sets in, it progresses to End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and the patient can only be saved through some form of Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) like dialysis or kidney transplant. Objectives: 1. To assess the level of quality of life before and after administration of multi interventional package among experimental group and control group of patients with CKD receiving hemodialysis. 2 To determine the effectiveness of multi interventional package on level quality of life among patients with CKD receiving hemodialysis in both experimental and control group. 3 To find out the association between post test level of quality of life with the demographic variables of patient with CKD receiving hemodialysis in both experimental and control group. Methods: The conceptual framework for the present study was based on LYDIA HALL S Core, Care, Cure model which guides the investigator to provide the multi interventional package on improving awareness regarding quality of life. A quasi experimental pretest and post test design with experimental and control group was used in the study. The independent variable was Multi interventional package and the dependent variable was quality of life among patient with CKD receiving haemodialysis. The study was conducted in Gunam Multi Speciality Hospital, and Kavery Hospital at Hosur, Krishnagiri. A purposive sampling technique was adopted for the study. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that the Multi interventional package is one of an effective strategy to improve the Quality of Life of patients with chronic kidney disease receiving hemodialysis. It is evident that the regular follow up with multi interventional package would be beneficial for those who are receiving hemodialysis. |
