Abstract: | newline Wireless Sensor Networks is a collection of small sensors newlinewhich are deployed densely in remote environment .Each node consists newlineof processing, capability, memory, wireless modem and limited battery newlineor power supply. WSN is used for wide range of potential applications newlinelike military, habitat monitoring, weather monitoring etc. Energy newlineconsumption is the main constraint in WSN. To obtain an energy newlineefficient network, various techniques like efficient routing, efficient newlinetopology control, and efficient congestion control were implemented. newlineVarious research works have been carried out over energy efficient newlinerouting protocols. newlineThe existing Virtual Grid based Dynamic Routes Adjustment newline(VGDRA) is proposed for periodic data collection from WSN. In this newlinetechnique, the sensor nodes are grouped in to virtual grids that are newlineheaded by cell header. The mobile sink that moves automatically in newlineterms of speed and direction, moves along the periphery of the sensor newlinefield and communications with the border cell-headers for the data newlinecollection.
