Abstract: | Fluoride pollution in the environment is also exacerbated by anthropogenic newlineactivity. Due to the population increase and global industrialization factors such as newlinemanufacturing of glass, silicon, kitchen vessels manufacturing (Teflon coating), newlineelectronics semicondcutors, aluminium and iron separation from its ores for production of newlinehuman needs, development of crop yield fertilizers industries and elctro paltted newlinemanufacturing industries have been discarded their waste into soil and water, it increasing newlinethe fluoride deposition in the environment. In many ways, high fluoride causes the human newlinemetabolism to malfunction. It causes thyroid gland problems, arthritis, DNA synthesis newlineproblems, cancer in excretory organs, urinary infections, gastro-intestinal irritation, bone newlinediseases and dental fluorosis. In this study, the phytoremediation technology from newlinemarine source Dunaliella salina has been choosen to eliminate fluoride ions from newlineeffluent discharge of industries. The groundwater from Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri newlinedistricts was chosen for estimation of quality parameters and observed that water quality newlineand Fluoride levels have crossed the permissible limits of WHO and TWAD standards newlinein several sites. The marine microalgae (D. Salina) was isolated from the marine water newlineand mass cultured in laboratory newline |
