Abstract: A sound sleep is the key parameter for healthy life. The monitoring of such vital parameter is very complex newlineas it is associated with electrical waves generated by brain. The study shows that sleep is a function of brain. newlineIn literature survey, the study focuses various sleep monitors available clinically and commercially based on newlinetechnique used and complexities involved- in, to analyze the quality of sleep. The qualitative study of papers, newlinepublished on sleep process and analysis consolidates the information from 1913 to 2021, about sleep, its newlineimportance, adverse effect on human system, their efficiency and sleep monitoring systems. The newlineconventional sleep monitoring method Polysomnography (PSG) to the wearable devices reviewed newlinecomparatively and come to know that the Gold Standard Polysomnography (PSG) parameters are considered newlineas standard parameters for sleep quality measurement. In the PSG process, number of monitoring parameters newlineare involved for that large number of sensors are used which makes this process complex, expensive and newlineobtrusive. The research work in thesis describes about the process of parameter optimization to reduce the newlinecomplexities associated with existing sleep monitoring system in cost effective manner. The hardware and newlineintelligent software proposed utilizes radio frequency (RF) channel for data communication and software newlinesimplifies the computational challenges associated with such complex entity measurement. The results newlineobtained are represented in a very lucid way so that any common person can understand it without any newlineexpert s support. The Intelligent Sleep Monitoring (ISM) system has an edge over the existing sleep newlinemonitors which works on single or two parameter based measurement.
