Abstract: | In recent years, cloud services become more popular among the public and business enterprises on provisioning virtual resources to the clients. Cloud computing (CC) becomes an effective way of accessing services, resources and applications through the Internet. The cloud environment has shifted the interest of business and association towards the deployment and daily maintenance of information technology (IT) facilities by providing a self-service, on-demand, and pay-as-you-go pricing industry models. CC offers the freedom of utilizing resources or services for every need and pay only for requirement. It reduces the needs of hardware as well as software from the user s view. However, in the other perspective, several protection issues have also aroused. Several security-oriented attacks are resolved for the classical CC platform. newlineOn the other hand, Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks enable the non-availability of cloud services to genuine users by generating heavy traffic from various devices known as bots. Since various institutions starts migration of their functions online, DoS and DDoS attacks can result in huge financial loss. At present times, diverse research works have been carried out to address several kinds of DoS and DDoS attacks take place in cloud platform. This research work focuses on the design of preventing, detecting and mitigating DDoS attacks in CC environment by the use of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. The entire newline |
