Abstract: The present investigation on Mapping of deep root QTLs responsible for drought tolerance in rice (Oryza Sativa L.) was conducted at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and at ICAR-National Rice research Institute, Cuttack Odisha in three different sets to achieve the objectives of the study. The selected four genotypes, two deep rooted parents (Azucena and Kanondand Patong) and shallow rooted parents (BPT-5204 and NDR-359) were grown during June 2016 at Agricultural Research Farm of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Crosses were made between Azucena with BPT-5204 and NDR-359; and between Kanondand Patong with BPT-5204 and NDR-359 to produce F1 seeds. Crossed seeds from individual plants were harvested separately. newline
