Abstract: The thesis has been structured into a total of seven chapters. Chapter 1 outlines the background of newlinethe research related to ambient air pollution by hazardous air pollutants and particulate matter and newlineconcludes with the summarized framework for this study. Chapter 2 elaborates on the theoretical newlineand methodological contributions in the field and substantive findings of other studies conducted newlineall over the world in the form of Literature Review. Chapter 3 describes the study area in detail newlinealong with the justification for choosing the said sampling locations and vehicular population data newlinetrend in Delhi city. Chapter 4 comprises of a detailed account of the assessment of volatile newlineorganic compounds in ambient air of Delhi.
