Abstract: | The present research considers intra-family child sexual abuse as the problem which the researcher underway at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Delhi for 5 years. It is a fact-finding study with an attempt made to discover what people do to support victims of IFCSA. The study also inquiries into direct and indirect factors contributing to the silence around IFCSA. The study explores present scenario about redressal in reported cases where the alleged offender is a father, grandfather, sibling, cousin, relative, live-in partner of the mother and any other person who shares the same household (either permanently or temporarily) and has a position of trust (not including the service providers, etc.). It also collects knowledge about immediate responses by family, community, government, and civil society organizations. The present study attempts to gather details about the social mechanisms available for providing support to the IFCSA victims and available legislative safeguards. Further, this study aims to suggest various measures for the prevention and control of this abuse. newline |
