dc.description.abstractThe vital need for establishing KPIs is recognized by many Universities across the world But in the Sultanate Key Performance Indicators for Institutes of Higher Education is still in its state of infancy At present there is no system by which KPIs are established by the higher education institutes The newlineCollege where this research is carried out is able to fill out the data for KPIs as required by the Ministry of higher education However there is a review needed by every college and University to identify a system of developing the KPIs based on its own Mission and Vision and Goals This will ensure that the Goals set by the College for its own growth is monitored and met within a specified time frame Another important angle is to ensure that the KPIs developed meets the expectations of the stakeholders of the institute Further the time span for such a measurement system should be in tune with the academic cycle of the institute with proper application software Besides applying Balanced Score Card and Strategic map concepts in the identification of the KPIs developed from the newlineperspectives of the three most important stakeholders Student and staff and the Management application software of the same name BSC has been used in this research work for monitoring the KPIs and for analysis of the data Four different surveys have been carried out Starting with understanding the status of KPI establishment in the Sultanate to understanding the stakeholders motivation and then to validate the KPI One of the significant outcomes of the thesis is also the recommendations made to the management for ensuring better reach of KPI benefits to the students one of the vital stakeholders of the Institute newline newlineen_US
