Abstract: | Value is defined as the standards or principles of behaviour. It is also considered as the worth newlineor importance of something. The present research study focused on the process of inculcation newlineof values in making adolescents gender sensitive through science education. The research newlineobjectives that were achieved during the study included the analysis of the perceptions of newlinedifferent stakeholders about value education, gender, gender sensitivity and gender education, newlinenature of integration of gender-related value education in pedagogic processes in a science newlineclassroom and the role of gender-related value education in addressing social problems and newlineconflicts by adolescents. The study was qualitative and descriptive in nature. The study was newlineconducted in the eight blocks of Wardha district in Maharashtra state. One CBSE-affiliated secondary school newlinewas selected from each block by simple random sampling technique. One section of both class IX and newlineX from eight selected CBSE-affiliated secondary schools were chosen randomly. The average newlineage of students at this level is fourteen-fifteen years. The total number of selected students newlinewas 477 including 289 boys and 188 girls. All the science teachers who were teaching these classes in newlinethe chosen schools and their respective administrators were also selected. There were a total of 53 teachers newlineincluding 25 males and 28 females. The administrators were 13 in number, including Principals and Vice newlinePrincipals. A total of 301 parents of the selected students were also selected as sample (170 newlinemales and 131 females) for the study by purposeful sampling. Self-made tools were developed newlinein the study that included questionnaires, checklist for classroom observation and interview newlineschedules. The NCERT science textbooks of class IX and X were analyzed and the values newlinewere enlisted that were validated by the experts.
