Background newlinePulpectomy is the treatment of choice for primary teeth with inflamed newlinepulp resulting from caries or trauma. The clinical success of pulpectomy newlineprocedure is determined by the aseptic root canal preparation and hermetic newlineseal of the root canal system. The success is also influenced by appropriate newlinecase selection, mixing of the obturation material and usage of proper newlinetechnique for obturation. newlineAim newlineTo compare the quality of obturation using three different obturation newlinetechniques in primary mandibular molars using Endoflas as obturating newlinematerial. newlineMaterials and Method newlineThe present study is a single blinded randomized clinical study newlineconducted in 90 children between the age group of 4 and 8 years of age newlinerequiring pulpectomy in primary mandibular molars. In group 1 obturation newlinewas done using Engine driven lentulospiral in 30 teeth, in group 2, obturation newlinewas done using hand held lentulospiral in 30 teeth and in group 3, obturation newlinewas done using reamer with Endoflas as obturation material. Post-operative newline9 of 104 newlineradiograph was taken and evaluated for the quality of obturation in terms of newlinelength of obturation, presence of voids and time taken for obturation was newlinerecorded. Independent t test and Chi square test was performed. newlineResults newlineA total of 90 children (46 females and 44males) participated in the newlinestudy. An equal distribution of the participants with respect to the age (P = newline0.217), gender (P = 0.561), and teeth (P = 0.117) was observed between the newlinegroups. There is no significant difference between the three experimental newlinegroups in terms of level of canal obturation and voids (pgt0.05). newlineConclusion newlineThe present study concludes that there is no difference in the three newlinequality of obturation among the three different groups but it is preferable to newlineuse Engine driven lentulospiral as it saves chair side time. newline
