dc.description.abstractFood is a primary necessity for different living entities. Likewise we cannot survive in the lack newlineof water and air; similarly we can t live without food. Food provides us strength to do our newlineeveryday routines and maintains our body systems. Food furthers the nourishing components newlinerequired by our body to repair and build tissues and to run different functions. Food performs newlinemuch more than just keeping us healthy and alive as it adds happiness to our life. Food is defined newlineas any materials which nutrify the body and is fit to eat. newlineIt may be liquid or solid. Different processes of body as regulation, maintenance, growth and newlineenergy are benefitted by food. It a matter of the general awareness that till to this date the food newlinesafety standards are not up to date in India. If we just take the example of one state only as of newlineHimachal Pradesh then even it is realized that the status of the food safety standards are very newlinelow. Till date the masses are not aware about the different food safety laws. Even when they newlineencounter with the different unsafe food issues then even they don t know where to go, to whom newlinethey can approach. Normally if such thing happens instead of claiming the tortuous liability they newlinethrow away the substandard or unsafe food. Food security also carries with it the challenge of newlinecontamination. Food security desires to curb the menace of starvation but it has failed to address newlinethe issue of contamination of food items. There is hardly any item of food in our nation which newlinedoesn t have the adulterants of different nature in them. This thing in itself carries a threat to be newlineaddressed by the public food distribution institutions. It the duty of these food institutions to newlineguarantee that distributed food is healthy and chemically safe. 1Safety of food is not just an issue newlineof concern to consumers of food, public administration and the food industry. It is not just a mere newlineright worth protecting. Safety of Food is a fundamental right which can be taken from different newlineother fundamental rights.
