Abstract

The thesis entitled Study of Data Mining Techniques and Its Use in Credit Risk newlineAnalysis of Home Loan Accounts of Selected Banks in Pune presented here is newlinestudy of bank customers applying for home loan and development of classification newlinebased model that perform the classification of customers into four classes and newlinesuggestion of a model after comparison of the models developed by different newlineclassification techniques. Classifying the customers into four classes by using data newlinemining techniques is the challenging work. newlineAlthough sufficient amount of work exists in this area but due to lack of newlineavailability of real database historical approach is used. Some of data miners have newlineused online database repository data. In many cases classification is restricted for newlinetwo classes only. Hence, it is the challenging task to Chapter 1 Introduction 2 newlinecollect data from different types of banks, study customer s loan profiles and newlinedevelop a model which categorizes the customers into four subsets with high newlineaccuracy rate. This chapter presents brief description of data mining techniques, newlinedata mining tasks and data mining applications in the different fields.
