Abstract: Nowadays optical network is very demanded due to availability of higher bandwidth with wide range of coverage. In the recent research numerous works done in the field of optimization of the optical network based on internet protocol (IP) over wavelength division multiplexing which increase the quality of service (QoS) to meet the requirement of real-time communication structure. In this dissertation we investigate about various optimization technique of optical network which increase the demand of such type of network to overcome the network communication problem in all areas. In the literature survey we identify that some of researcher work in the field virtual topology reconfiguration (VTR) in IP-over-WDM to optimize the traffic load and modeled it , another solve the problem of versatile use of WDM in robust environment , other work done in the field of congestion control, end-to end delay minimization, dynamic traffic handling and feasible topology designing for the IP-over-WDM network. Those investigations provide the roadmap for optimization the optical network with respect to different prospective and efficient adoptability of optical communication in any circumstance. newlineWDM has emerged as a promising technology for use in backbone transport networks. The end to end networking of wavelength in fully optical domain requires new design methods to enhance transmission and node processing capabilities. An optical layer consists of a set of light paths and can use in transport networks between the lower physical media layer and higher client layers. The nodes together with the set of light path at the optical layer form a virtual topology. In the existing system numerous researches has been done in the field of designing the virtual topology, with necessary illustration, containing some constraint, adopting algorithms etc. In the recent past, a significant amount of research and development work has been carried out in the area of WDM optical network. newlineSo in this dissertation resolve that problem of congestion and QOS using the dynamic queue in virtual topology under WDM. In the dynamic queuing technique every intermediate node create incoming and outgoing queue for respective connected link. During real time communication if any link found heavy utilized or queue is nearly fully utilized out of n outgoing link, than instantly increases the size of queue of respective link as well as decreases proportionally queue of other low utilized connected link in same intermediate node. Proposed dynamic queue virtual topology WDM (DQ-VTWDM) increases the network efficiency. The simulation of network perform by network simulator-2, where input taken as hybrid topology, total 49 (unidirectional) 48 (bidirectional) physical link. With the help of result analysis we conclude that proposed DQ-VTWDM technique provides better QoS as compared to existing VT-WDM in terms of number of data receives, percentage of data receives and minimize routing overhead, delay and data drop. newline newline
