Abstract: Abstract newlineWith the increasing concern about possible energy crisis and damaging impact that newlineburning of fossil fuels like coal, oil have on the environment, people have recognized newlinethe big potential of renewable energy resources (RERs). There is an augmented newlinedemand of economical and clean electrical power generations. Therefore electrical newlinegeneration from energy sources like wind, solar (PV), ultra capacitors, fuel cell etc. newlinehave been gaining more attention since the last few decades. Many countries are newlineactively developing electrical generation systems using renewable sources. Based on newlinethe estimations of the intergovernmental policies on climate change emission newlinereduction targets, renewable energy will account for 46% of global power by 2050. newlineThese renewable energy sources are highly intermittent in nature and operate at newlinemedium power levels. An inherent feature of all renewable energy sources is the newlineavailable energy varies randomly, resulting in wide variation in available output newlinevoltage and power. newlineWith increasing worldwide popularity of renewable energy, intelligent power newlineelectronic interface between these sources and electrical DC grid is necessary part of newlinesuch generation systems for better energy yield and power quality. These power newlineelectronic interfaces must have high efficiency, high gain, and high power density in newlineaddition to improved reliability. newlineThe input of power electronic converter in renewable generation can be either low DC newlinevoltage (like fuel cell or PV) or ac voltage with wide variation of both magnitude and newlinefrequency (like wind generator). The output can be DC, which can be fed to the DC newlineload or connected to the utility through an inverter. The control implementation for newlinethese interfaces is an emerging challenge. newlinex newlineWhen all these renewable sources are integrated and connected to a common DC bus, newlineit is necessary to maintain constant DC voltage at the DC bus with respect to varying newlineloads as well as with respect to varying input from renewable sources. Maintaining newlineprecisely constant voltage with high effic
