Abstract: Landslides are natural phenomena, which occur due to complex interplay of many newlinefactors. These phenomena occur in hilly and mountainous terrains all over the world newlineand constitute in modifying earth s surface. These cause huge economic loss, loss of newlinelives and cause hindrances to social activities if not checked in time. Assessment of newlinelandslides in the landslide prone areas can help decrease the damage largely. A number newlineof approaches have been introduced for landslide susceptibility assessment but still no newlinemethod can be declared the best. The performance of these methods vary due to data newlinereliability and variable terrain conditions. newline
