Abstract: | The computer was invented to solve voluminous calculations relating to the newlineU.S. Population data. Initially it was not invented for entertainment. It was born in the newlineyear 1822 which was in the form of calculating machine. Gradually the researchers newlinecame out with the developed computer to meet the ever increasing needs. In India, the newlinefirst stage to start with was the use of office automation using various machines like newlinecalculating machines, key punching machines for data analysis, advanced lager posting newlinemachines etc. This was some time in the 1980s and 1990s. Gradually thelatest newlinecomputer was introduced in the last decade of the 20th century. India is a developing newlinecountry and is having a problem of unemployment. On this backdrop, initially there newlinewas stiff opposition for the use of computers by the organized labour. It was out of total newlinemisconception of that it may result in retrenchment and will adversely affect the newlineemployment generation. However, in the course of time even the trade unions led by newlineleft parties which were vehemently opposing the introduction of computers, have newlinesoftened their stand and they themselves have started using thecomputers. Particularly newlinethe use of computers by the Banking sector which is a service sector has helped the newlinecommon man to appreciate the use of computers. Today in all walks of our life one newlinefinds use of computer and that it has made the things easier. Today in India computer newlinein one form or the other has made inroad in every sphere of our life. Keeping in view newlinethe uses of computer there is lots of research going on all over the world. This being newlinethe situation, day in and day out we hear the advancement in its utility. newlineThe information technology has encompassed all fields of human activity. It newlinehas made the life easier. In a developing country life India even the illiterates are now newlineusing debit card and reaping the benefit of operational convenience in banking newlineservices. newline1.1 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY newlineTo day the words Information Technology has become buzz word all over. |
