Abstract: Problem related to regional disparities has attracted the interest of researchers, economists, stakeholders and governments from time to time. The existence of regional disparities and pattern of development is skewed to few districts i.e., Patiala, Bathinda, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar. Moreover, the effectiveness of government expenditure on GSDP of the State is found to be positive. Mostly respondents were agreed with illegal construction/mining, pollution of noise/air/water, negative impacts on natural resources, social structure and other parameters have increased. Besides, positive perception in terms of economic and infrastructural impact of development is expressed. newline
