Abstract: | The entire research work reported in this thesis can be divided broadly into two newlinecategories of newline1. Development of CrO2 based nanocomposite powders and films, and deposition of newlinethin films by pulsed laser deposition, and, newline2. Development of spin-FETs based on CrO2 based thin films. newlineFirst part is concerned with the synthesis and characterization of multiphasic newlinechromium oxide nanocomposite powders and derivatives in form of films. The second part newlineis concerned with the deposition and characterization of pulsed laser deposited TiO2 and newlineCrO2 thin films. The third part describes the fabrication and characterization of novel spin- newlineFETs using combinatorial technique of electron beam lithography and optical lithography, newlineand focused ion beam. A major focus of the work is the development of room temperature newlinemagnetoresistance in efficient values in both nanocomposite powders, its derivatives in newlineform of films, and thin films. Spintronic devices in SWCNT configuration have also been newlinedemonstrated to show efficient magnetotransport features at room temperature. The newlineobtained results are analyzed and presented with adequate discussion in nine chapters. newlinePhysical characteristics and engineering potentiality of the derived materials and devices newlinehas been described elaborately. newline |
