Abstract

The classification of books for children and adults has compelled the teen newlinereaders to leap from children s literature to adults literature. With the emergence of newlineadolescence, a distinct literature was created and young adult literature became an newlineumbrella term for various genres that met the predilection of the young adult readers. newlineThe term young adult literature found its common usage in the late 1960s; the interest newlineof the growing readers has been marked by their change of interest in the book they read newlinefrom adventure/fantasy to thriller/mysteries. There are opinions that the preferences of newlinebooks are of individual choices and there is no fixed genre in literature for certain age newlinegroups. It is still undeniable that the behaviourism of a certain age group is almost newlinethe same regardless of nationality, culture and class.
