Abstract: Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has a unique imaging potential in providing newlinehigh-resolution day/night and weather- independent images. The main problem newlineof SAR images is the presence of speckle noise, which reduces the contrast and newlineresolution of the images. To improve the quality and performance of image analysis, newlinespeckle reduction is prerequisite for SAR images. With the rapid evolution of SAR newlinetechnology accompanying high-resolution data of large dimension demands better newlineand efficient speckle filtering algorithms. newline
