Abstract: | The research work recapitulates in silico design, synthesis and pharmacological studies of novel 1, 4-benzoquinone derivatives as potential molecules of therapeutic significance for the management of cognitive decline. Their importance as promising antioxidants to combat the deleterious effects of oxidative stress on cognitive ability has also been evaluated. Findings depicted that the anti-amnesic effect of the synthesized conjugates on scopolamine-induced memory impairment may be related to the mediation of the cholinergic system and their effective antioxidant activity. A favorable scenario for the development of selective AChE inhibitors for the management of cognitive decline has been indicated in the present work. newline |
