Abstract: This research study examines language contact in language pair Hindi-English on Twitter. This research investigates processes of inflectional and derivational morphology in the grammatical category of verbs. Also, this research examines how English verbs joined with the Hindi phonemic sound (vowel sound and#2323;) o bring the formation of imperativesentences. Moreover, these code-switched patterns are studied from the perspective of different grammatical theories as propounded by Braj Kachru, Shana Poplack, Carol Myers- Scotton, and Pieter Muysken. This is done to investigate if these patterns conform to the constraints cited under these grammatical theories and if these grammatical theories adequately explain these patterns. Additionally, sociolinguistic analysis is done to probe people of which country, gender, socio-economic and professional background make use of these linguistic choices. newline
