Abstract: | Every nation s economic growth is dependent directly on the growth of its physical infrastructure, newlinelike roads, railways, airports, seaports, hospitals, and schools. The strategy of the government is newlineto launch developmental and citizen welfare schemes and align the same with the growing newlineaspirations and requirements of its citizens. These schemes cannot bear fruit unless there is newlineappropriate planning and execution. This progress is being driven by gains in industries such as newlineinfrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and services. Infrastructure development is key to the newlineeconomic development of any country. Project management is the key methodology adopted to newlineensure the successful completion of the activities leading to the expected and planned outcomes of newlinethe proposed schemes. This, however, is impossible without the active and ongoing engagement newlineof the business sector. In recent years, public-private partnerships have recognized as an important newlineprimary driver behind large-scale infrastructure works. Based on existing research, this thesis newlineexplores the importance of stakeholder participation in PPP projects and makes recommendations newlineto project managers for best practises in managing stakeholders successfully. This research work newlinealso recommends that the existing engagement approaches must be reviewed in order to adapt to newlineshifting political, economic, social, technological, and legal factors and maintain continued newlinestakeholder participation. This study aims to identify shortcomings in stakeholder engagement newlinepractises and competencies as practised in the road infrastructure development public private newlinepartnership projects in the state of Karnataka, with specific focus on the road highways in the newlinecapital region of Bengaluru in comparison to the best practises proposed by the several experts and newlineprofessional bodies, and to recommend framework to assist the project managers and the project newlinemanagement teams of the road infrastructure development public private partnership projects in newlineimproving their practises in order to enga |
