Peptic ulcers are a prevalent and widespread health issue. Free radical production, a decline in mucosal defence mechanisms, or an increase in mucosal damaging elements is among the main causes. Peptic ulcers have been documented to be prevented or treated with a variety of plants and their derivatives. like Allium sativum, Bacapo moniera, Moringa loeifera, Aloe vera, Aegel memelos, Carica papaya, Terminalia chebula, Sesbani gradiflora, Shorea robusta, Azadirachta Indica, Ocimum Sanctum, Annona squamosa, Mimosa pudisa and many more. Celosia cristata plant is known for its different phytoconstituents such as flavonoids, terpenoids, steroid, coumarin and due to the presence of choline esters as choline esters can regulate mucus secretion so it was selected for evaluation of its anti-ulcer activity. newline
