Abstract: The present study has investigated the awareness and attitude of parents for various newlineGovernment schemes for school-going children. The study provided an insight into the newlineviews, challenges, aspirations, and apprehension which the parents feel about these newlineGovernment schemes and their implementation process. It also provided the newlineunderstanding parents have for these schemes and the measure they take to get benefits newlineto promote the education of their children. The study also investigated the perceptions newlineof teachers about the impact of these schemes on teaching-learning processes at the newlineschool level. The study was delimited to the primary schools under East Delhi newlineMunicipal Corporation in Delhi. Data was collected through the semi-structured newlineinterview schedules, Opinionnaire (five-point Rating Likert Scale), and Observation newlineChecklist. The sample was collected using the multi-stage sampling method. A total of newline120parets, 90 Teachers in-charge of various government schemes and 150 teachers newlineteaching in primary schools under East Delhi Municipal Corporation in Delhi were the newlinepart of this study. The findings of the study showed that there is a decline in the newlineenrolment of the number of students in EDMC schools in the last five years. The newlinedropout rate of students has increased and the number of beneficiary students receiving newlineincentives under various schemes has been decreased in the last five years. The newlinechallenges faced by the parents and the teachers have during the implementation of newlinethese incentive-based schemes and suggestions for better implementation have been newlinereflected in the study. The study concluded that it is high time to review these schemes newlineand incorporate suggestions from all the stakeholders so that the ultimate purpose of newlinethese schemes can be achieved and maximum students can get the benefits in terms of newlineaccess to quality education in schools and getting material and monetary support to newlinecomplete their education.
