dc.description.abstract | Leadership undoubtedly plays a vital role in every organization. In this present business world also leadership has emerged as the soul of the subjects pertaining to performance of the employees.Thus, this particular study has been conducted to provide significant framework for the leaders to use the best leadership practices and check its impact on the employees performance .Quantitative research approach has been selected for this study. The study has included the perspective of both the leaders and the employees working in small and medium IT companies of northern India. The results have vividly exhibited that leadership has significant relationship with employees performance and also crucially impacts the employees performance. Further, all the human capital variables under study play important role in the employees performance, leadership styles and in mediators (motivation, communication, organizational commitment and emotional intelligence) with the sole exception of gender. It has also indicated that there exists a significant difference between the perception of leaders and perception of employees with regard to performance, leadership styles and mediators (motivation, communication, organizational commitment, emotional intelligence). Moreover, on the basis of the study, it is imperative for the leaders to realize the role of motivation, communication, emotional intelligence and organizational commitment as this vitally mediates the relationship of leadership and employee performance. The results of the study will certainly help leaders in understanding the styles used by them and surely assist the leaders in comprehending the employees performance. newline | |
