newlineThough the Davangere Dist is in central part of Karnataka state. It has wonderful wealth like fertile soil, sufficient water, trading center, Industries, and Educational Center. Due to its historical, religious, cultural, movements, it has achieved progress in international level, people attract towards this dist, because of its unique styles of arts like temples, Arts and architecture, inscriptions and some of old monuments. newlineGeographically, In Karnataka, Davangere, is k.m away from any places, and it is the central place to all the places in Karnataka. It is the mixture of North and South language, culture and etc. In Indian freedom movement Davangere District had played an important role. It is proud to say that Davangere had played a prominent role in making the people of India to free from British the whole country had stood against Non-violence and slavery at that time people of Davangere dist influenced by the National feelings, respect and sacrificed themselves for freedom. newline After the 19th century end part of India freedom fight started under the leadership of Gandhiji by many movements like Sathyagraha, but being a small district Davangere raised its voice in 1921, and entered in freedom movement. There are many influences for this freedom fight, They got influenced from many sources like a books written by young writers, other movements of different places, many speeches of great leaders etc, like wise the Davangere dist people got influenced by many ways. Some of the leaders visited to Davangere and made them to fight against the British. In that movements the main leaders of Harihara they are Gundoorao, Kasala Shreenivas Shettar, Kotrenanjappa, S. Nijalingappa, Hullir Shreenivasa rao, Vasudevrao of Ballary, Siddamma of Ballari Nagararthnamma Hiremath N.M.Chandrashekarayya etc, they played actively in the freedom (fight) movement. These movements got populared in Chitradurga, Turvenoor, Davangere, Mayakonda and Harihar. newline
