Abstract: | Meditation is a mental discipline which brings awareness to one s mind and body. It induces a newlinemode of consciousness to realize benefits for mankind. It enables one to focus attention on a newlinespecific point like on breath, on body or on mantra. It is considered as the most valuable tool for newlinethe stress relief, improved mental clarity and pain reduction. Well Being is a positive outcome of newlinelife. It is subjective only to pleasure. Whereas Subjective well-being (SWB) refers to how people newlineexperience their quality of lives in relation to emotional reaction and cognitive judgment. The newlinequality of life of an individual and a society is dependent on the amount of happiness and pleasure newlinethey experience, as well as their relationship to human health. Therefore it is clear that both newlineemotion intelligence and subjective wellbeing are mind and body related. To become emotionally newlineintelligent and to ensure well-being, meditation remains as a back bone. Thus this research has newlinetaken an initiative to study the impact of meditation on emotional intelligence and subjective newlinewellbeing among the meditators irrespective of age, gender, educational qualification, place and newlinetechniques of meditation followed. newlineThis study is systematically and scientifically organized. The validity of research is determined newlineby a systematic approach to data gathering and analysis in a methodical manner. It has made an newlinegeneral usage of both primary and secondary data. It describes EI and subjective well-being of the newlinemeditators in Indore Madhya Pradesh and hence the study is descriptive in nature. Hence, this newlineresearch uses sampling method for collecting data. For this research stratified random sampling is newlineused for collecting the data. As far as the present study is concerned the population was divided newlineinto six stratums on the basis of taluks. Within this stratum, the researcher selected the newlinerespondents by using sampling technique. The samples were collected from Indore Madhya newlinePradesh based on stratified random sampling method. newline |
