Abstract: | IoT is one of the growing field which consists of three main elements such as computation, newlinecommunication and things that are connected through the network. IoT is used in various newlineapplications like home automation, smart healthcare, smart city, etc. The main challenge newlinewhile offering these services is to provide good service at the proper place and in the proper newlinetime. The major requirement is a selection of the best service at design time or at run time newlinebased on Quality of Service (QoS) whenever the presently running service starts to newlinedegrade. This is specifically necessary for safety-related applications like healthcare, newlineindustrial automation, etc., where the service failure will have a critical impact. Hence, newlineQuality of service satisfaction is important which can be given through the QoS evaluation. newlineTherefore, Quality of Service (QoS) is one of the important element in an IoT system that newlinecan be used for evaluation of the performance and quality of IoT systems. The security newlinebreach in IoT can affect the performance of IoT systems. So, it is essential to evaluate the newlineQoS parameters of IoT applications. newlineIn IoT, communication is one of the pillar. The various communication protocols like newlineMQTT, CoAP, XMPP, and AMQP are used in IoT at the application level. MQTT is an newlineideal protocol in IoT as it offers various features like being lightweight, small in size, low newlinepower usage, easy to implement and minimized data packet. While MQTT is not one of the newlinemost secure protocol. Therefore, to provide more security to MQTT communication and newlineprotect the IoT system from vulnerabilities, it is necessary to add some extra features to newlineMQTT. Therefore, there is a need to do some modifications to the MQTT protocol to newlineimprove the authentication. Hence, in this research work, the two-way authentication newlinescheme has been applied in the application layer of MQTT which provides a more robust newlineand secured data transmission scheme. |
