Abstract: | Being a diverse group, the connective tissue disorder is characterised by newlinemultisystem involvement. Connective tissue disorders are related with a complex newlinegenetic predisposition and various environmental triggers that provokes immune newlinemediated and inflammatory reactions . As the clinical presentations are variable, their newlinediagnosis and management is a challenge. A collaborative and multidisciplinary newlineapproach for treating CTDs is vital . Though the cardiovascular system involvement newlineis less affected and understood than the other system , its contribution to mortality is newlinehigh. The chronic inflammation can affect the blood mononuclear cells, release of pro newlineinflammatory cytokines ,vascular cell adhesion molecule, all contributing to newlineatherosclerosis and other cardiovascular abnormlaities .This disregulated immune newlinesystem damages the heart and vascular system .Thus, the identification of cardiac newlinedysfunction in CTDs by using non invasive tests in initial stages can lessen the newlinemorbidity and mortality rate. A study was conducted to evaluate the cardiac newlinedysfunction in these patients with Non invasive test like ECG, ECHO, Cardiac panel, newlineTMT. Th e present study has revealed that there is an evidence of cardiac dysfunction newlineamong patients with connective tissue disorders , but it is usually unnoticed or not newlineclinically apparent. The patients especially with SLE and sjogren has to be screened newlinefor cardiac dysfunction. Early identification and timely management of cardiac newlineabnormalities in connective tissue diseases can lessen the morbidity and mortality. newline |
