Efficient interference cancellation and mobility management techniques in sdn based heterogeneous wireless networks

Abstract

The Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) Communication paradigm in 5G networks provide an effective infrastructure for enabling different smart city applications like smart parking, smart infrastructure, public safety applications etc., In future smart cities, dense deployment of wireless networks like Wi-Fi, WSN and MANET etc., can be integrated with 5G networks using CRN communication. This Cognitive Radio is a technology which acts according to the surrounding environment and improves spectrum utilization by performing Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA).This DSA approach allows unlicensed users (Secondary Users) to opportunistically access the unused portions of the licensed spectrum without interfering with licensed users. During disasters, Cognitive Radio sense the available spectrum thereby the victims can communicate with the first responders using the free available spectrum. The Cognitive Radio and 5G networks have been considered as the two emerging technologies to meet heavy mobile data of future wireless networks especially during emergency situations. newline
