Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during two consecutive Kharif seasons of 2019- 20 and 2020-21 at Soil Conservation and Water Management Farm of the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur-208002, Studies on nutrient management and moisture conservation practices on pearlmillet (Pennisetum glaucum L.) under light textured soil. The treatment combination of six nutrient management viz., N1) Control, N2) 100% NPK 80:40:40 kg ha-1 through chemical fertilizer, N3) Green manuring + 75% NPK through chemical fertilizer, N4) Green manuring + FYM 10 t ha-1 , N5) FYMat 10 t ha-1 + 75% NPK through chemical fertilizer and N6) FYMat 10 t ha-1 + 50% NPK through chemical fertilizer and three moisture conservation practices: M1) Control, M2) inter-row water harvesting and M3) Ridge making at 25 DAS in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. The results revealed that treatment N5) where farm yard manure applied at of 10 t ha 1 with 75 percent NPK through chemical fertilizer and moisture conservation practice M3) where ridge making at 25 days after sowing produced significantly more growth parameters, yield attributes and yields- grain yield, stover yield, biological yield, harvest index and number of roots, fresh and dry weight of roots, water use efficiency and gross return, net return and benefit: cost ratio of the treatments of nutrient management and moisture conservation practices during both the years of study newline
