Abstract: Nowadays, the transactive energy markets (TEMs) are emerging as interesting frameworks in newlinederegulated power markets (DPMs) to control the balance of supply and demand in the entire newlineelectrical infrastructure. TEMs can facilitate power delivery with high efficiency and more newlineeconomic benefits without any security issues and also encourage interaction between market newlineparticipants in the DPMs. In the perspective of future energy demands, open access newlinetransmission systems, and the wide deployment of renewable energy sources (RES), a large newlinenumber of transactions are possible among the power traders. To accommodate a large number newlineof power transactions in the existing transmission networks without any security, reliability newlineand economic issues, it is important to find the proper locations for conducting transactions newlineand for placement of RES units. newlineThis thesis presents a novel feasibility assessment approach for finding feasible transactions. newlineThe loading capability factor is proposed for identification of suitable locations for the newlineplacement of RESs. The proposed approach efficiently mitigates congestion and enhances both newlinethe economic benefits and the power transfer capability of the system. Both security and newlineeconomic aspects have significant importance in successful operation of TEMs. Moreover, newlineTEMs are market-oriented; so, an appropriate dispatch model for TEMs should be designed to newlineachieve the TEMs objectives. The dynamic programming (DP) and optimal transport theorybased newlinedispatch models are proposed for optimal dispatch of transactions without any security newlineand economic issues. New techniques, i.e., variable step size (VSS) and state-restructuring newline(SR) features are integrated with DP to reduce computational burden and operational newlinecomplexity of the proposed problem remarkably. Also, the proposed approaches determine the newlinepower contribution of generation units to transactions in order to accurately assess the cost of newlinetransactions. newline
